Amy Okuda was born and raised in Torrance, California. Growing up as a tomboy, she started playing basketball at a very young age, which became her life and passion. At age 11 she was chosen to represent California in a national tournament, and her team placed third in the country.
Switching gears, Amy found new interest in dancing, and soon began working as a professional dancer, appearing in music videos and commercials. Shortly after getting an agent, she was booked as a print model for companies such as Apple and Verizon, and appeared in commericials for Canon, Japanese drink company Suntory, and AT&T. She landed her first acting role in the TV show Californication with David Duchovny. In 2007, Amy began her first series regular role as Tinkerballa in The Guild, a web series written and created by Felicia Day. The show has received critical acclaim, and have been awarded YouTube Video Award for Best Series, Yahoo! Video Award for Best Series, and the Streamy Awards for Best Comedy Web Series, Best Ensemble Cast, to name a few. The Guild finished airing it’s fifth season.
Amy graduated from the USC School of Cinematic Arts with a degree in Critical Studies and Communications. When she is not busy working on a project, Amy enjoys spoiling her dog Lola, hanging out at the beach, and indulging in guilty reality TV pleasures.
